Services Set For Harrison Woman Killed In Fire

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Services will be held Saturday for Arlene Diane Brubacher, 61, who died Tuesday morning in a fire in her Underhill Avenue apartment.

Brubacher was born on April 28, 1952 in Yonkers. She was a resident of Harrison for nearly 33 years. She graduated from Saunders Trades and Technical High School in Yonkers, and studied business administration and management at Westchester Business Institute. She was a sales representative for Nabisco Cookie Company and Zee Medical Company, and later worked for Verizon Telephone Company for almost 30 years. She began as a customer service bureau repair and dispatch technician and finished as a repair and installation field technician before retiring in 2010. She was a member of Local 1103 of the Communications Workers of America during her career.

She was an artist beginning in her teenage years and continuing throughout her life. Her various talents and interests included macramé, painting, pottery, photography and a love for the Internet and social media, particularly Facebook.

Brubacher is survived by her only child, Robert Brubacher Jr., former husband, Robert Brubacher Sr., her stepfather, Dave Deakyne, half sister, Cynthia Lucci, and cousins Joseph and Gloria D'Onofrio, Gloria Marie Swan and Joseph and Debra Breese.

Services will be held Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at Robert Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Fishkill, N.Y. , with memorial services at 3:30 p.m.
