Area Police Called In Hunt For Rye Fugitive

RYE, N.Y. -- Without Dog and Beth or another reality-TV bounty hunter nearby, a local bail bondsman called upon the Rye Police Department to help track down a city fugitive this week.

Rye police were called upon to help bail bond agents this week to hunt down a former resident of Maple Avenue.

"This was really a non-event for us," Lt. Scott Craig, a Rye police spokesman explained on Thursday. "We just assisted a bail bondsman who was looking for an individual who at one time lived on Maple Avenue. It was not an arrest nor was the original arrest from our jurisdiction. The party they were inquiring about no longer lives in the area."

No word yet on what the fugitive was charged with, or whether he's been located. The original alert, issued on Tuesday night, said several "bail enforcement agents" requested assistance.
