RYE, N.Y. -- The former general manager of the Rye Golf Club pleaded guilty on Thursday to grand larceny and two other felony charges stemming from years of thefts and falsified business records.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Scott Yandrasevich, 50,  of 11 Abbey Lane, Danbury, Conn., entered guilty pleas to one count of third-degree grand larceny and two counts of first-degree falsifying business records.

Yandrasevich faces up to three years in state prison on the charges.

Lucian Chalfen, a spokesman for DiFiore, said that depending on the amount of restitution that Yandrasevich pays back before his sentencing, he faces either one year in county jail or one to three years in state prison.

At this time, no one else is facing prosecution. Chalfen said on Thursday.

From April 10, 2007, until Aug. 20, 2012, Yandrasevich was general manager at the Rye Golf Club, a facility operated at 330 Boston Post Road with the oversight of Rye City government. The city of Rye has filed a $2 million claim with its insurance company which includes repayment for the cost of investigating the thefts.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Yandrasevich stole $271,120 from the Golf Club and the City of Rye by knowingly submitting false invoices to former Rye City Manager Scott Pickup and other city government officials for fictitious employees for more than four years.

The club is a Rye City owned non-equity membership club. The defendant accomplished this larceny by setting up and effectively controlling a staffing company called RM Staffing for the purposes of billing the City of Rye for services provided to the Golf Club, according to DiFiore.

The defendant submitted false bi-weekly invoices on RM Staffing stationary listing individuals who were falsely described as working in “Administration,” “Restaurant” and/or “Operations” at the Club, when in fact no such persons worked for the Golf Club, DiFiore said.

In total, these fraudulent invoices were submitted during a span of more than 100 pay periods and the City of Rye paid out approximately $271,120 to RM Staffing for these fictional services, DiFiore said.

After RM Staffing received the stolen money, it was ultimately transferred back to Yandrasevich, who used the money for his own personal use, according to the county District Attorney's Office, which was assisted in this investigation by City of Rye government officials as well as the Rye City Police Department.

The Rye Police Department became aware of financial irregularities and hired outside counsel who further investigated and forwarded those findings to the District Attorney's office.

Yandrasevich is scheduled to be sentenced on April 9, 2015. DiFiore said that Yandrasevich's prison sentence will be impacted by how much restitution the defendant is able to make upfront.

Assistant District Attorney Brian Conway, deputy chief of the county's Public Integrity Bureau, is prosecuting the case.
