Getaway Driver Pleads Guilty To Role In White Plains Ambush Shooting Murder

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. said on Monday that 21-year-old Michael Djukic has pleaded guilty to felony counts of attempted criminal facilitation and hindering prosecution for his role in the shooting.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday April 17 last year, the first defendant, Aaron George and Djukic traveled to an apartment complex on North Kensico Avenue in White Plains.

According to Scarpino, the two proceeded to wait in the vehicle until their victim approached. George then got out of the car, fired a handgun multiple times at him, striking his victim several times. George then returned to the car and Djukic allegedly sped off. Their victim was taken to the Westchester Medical Center and died in surgery.

Last week, George pleaded guilty to murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Djukic remains out on bail, and must surrender himself into custody by Wednesday, April 19. George remains remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Both are due to be sentenced on Wednesday, July 12. George faces life, while Djukic faces a total of 14 years in state prison.
