Harrison Traffic Stops Reveal Suspended Licenses

HARRISON, N.Y. – A Peekskill man was pulled over in the rear parking lot of the CVS pharmacy for driving without a seat belt, Harrison police said, and a computer check revealed that his driver's license had been suspended.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. The incident occurred about 10 p.m. July 17 at the CVS store, 270 Halstead Ave.

The following items also were reported by Harrison police:

Marijuana Possession : A Harrison police officer stopped a car for “failing to maintain a lane” at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, on Mamaroneck Avenue. The officer reported that he smelled marijuana and asked the driver whether he had any. The driver, a Bronx man, replied yes and pulled a small bag of marijuana from his pocket, the report said. He was arrested and was released with an appearance ticket.

Suspended Registration: A Rye man was pulled over at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, after a license plate reader showed his registration was suspended. The man was issued a summons and his license plates were confiscated.

Suspended License: A man was pulled over at 12:06 a.m. Sunday on Westchester Avenue because his left brake light was out, police said, and a check showed that his driver's license had been suspended. He was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and was released with a court date in August.
