Harrison Man Stopped On I-95 Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say

HARRISON, N.Y. -- A Harrison man had two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he was stopped by troopers Thursday, state police said.

Joseph R. Martin, 48, of Harrison has been charged with driving while intoxicated after state police found he had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

Joseph R. Martin, 48, was pulled over on Route 95 around 2 a.m. for, police said, a traffic violation in a work zone.

After he was transported to state police barracks in New Rochelle, Martin submitted to a test and his BAC was found to be .18 percent, police said.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, police said.

Martin was turned over to a sober third party and is to appear in Harrison Town Court next month.
