The dumpster was transported to Brookfield Recycling at 13 Hayes St. in Elmsford, where a worker discovered the infant late on Nov. 12. The body was found in a plastic bag amid discarded cardboard.

The Village of Elmsford released the following statement to Greenburgh Daily Voice through Mayor Robert Williams: "The Village of Elmsford would like to thank all the Police Departments, District Attorneys and everyone that worked so hard to solve this case. We are glad that the case is closed and come to an end."

Guaman-Guaman will serve 15 years in state prison with five years post release supervision, based on her guilty plea. She will be formally sentenced on September 4.

Dr. Marc E. Tarle, a psychiatrist hired by the defense, examined Guaman-Guaman and found she had a full-scale IQ of 53.

Additionally, Tarle found the defendant is living with from Moderate Intellectual Disability, having suffered brain damage after being kicked in the head by a horse at 7-years-old. Tarle concluded that at the time of the homicide, the defendant suffered from an extreme emotional disturbance.
