Officers from the North Castle Police Department received a report from a woman on Tuesday, Feb. 27 who stated that four men had broken into her Hillandale Avenue home in North White Plains by posing as employees working for a gas company.

Police said that the woman answered the door and four men stated that they worked for the gas company and needed access to the residence to repair a leak. The woman stepped outside with two of the men, while the other two went inside the residence.

According to police, the two men were in the house for approximately two minutes before leaving down North Broadway and getting into a dark compact SUV and fleeing.

The woman described the four men as being in their late 20s, speaking with accents - possibly Hispanic - all wearing dark clothing. The incident remains under investigation by police in North Castle.
