Police Seize Cocaine, Counterfeit Bills, Illegal Fireworks In Harrison

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A man and woman stopped on I-287 in Westchester for a speeding violation were busted by state police troopers in possession of cocaine, counterfeit cash, marijuana and illegal fireworks.

Troopers stopped the driver, 29-year-old Jamar Johnson and his passenger, 21-year-old Arnisha Chery, both Manhattan residents, shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24 in Harrison, and during the subsequent interview, police said they were able to establish probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

According to police, during the subsequent search, troopers recovered 2.4 grams of marijuana, 2.9 grams of cocaine, a counterfeit $100 bill and multiple illegal fireworks. The two were subsequently arrested and charged with multiple felonies.

Both suspects were charged with felony counts of first-degree forgery and criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of illegal fireworks, violations.

Additionally, Chery was charged with a misdemeanor count of obstruction of governmental administration and Johnson was cited for false personation, a misdemeanor and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Police said bail information is not currently available. Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Harrison Court on Tuesday and are due back in court later this year.
