HARRISON, N.Y. A Harrison woman faces a drug possession charge after she was pulled over Tuesday, Aug. 14, for making an improper left turn from Broadway onto Calvert Street, Harrison police said.
Police said Donna Williams, 54, of 38 Avondale Road was stopped at 9:47 p.m. for failing to yield the right of way, and one of the two officers noticed what appeared to be a glass stem containing crack cocaine residue and several small clear plastic baggies containing powder cocaine residue inside of her purse along with two push rods.
Before being impounded, the car was searched and an officer found small blue plastic bags containing a white powder on the floor of the rear drivers side, police said.
Williams was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. She also was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn. She was due in court on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Warrant Arrest: Two Harrison police officers went to Bronx Criminal Court at 7:47 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, to pick up a man on a bench warrant. After the White Plains residents case was heard, the Harrison police took custody of him and transported to department headquarters. He was unable to post $500 bail and was taken to the Westchester County jail.
Expired Registration: A license plate reader alerted an officer on patrol Thursday, Aug. 16, that a cars registration was suspended or revoked. The officer found out that the registration had been suspended because of an insurance lapse since April 4. The license plates were removed and taken to Harrison police headquarters, where they were placed in the license plate locker, and the woman was issued a summons.
