PURCHASE, N.Y. -- A civil court jury ruled a Purchase resident and owner of food concession stands at Westchester County airport has to pay $4.75 million after he had a former employee arrested on phony charges, according to LoHud.com.
Sammy El Jamal, 39, and another employee fabricated charges that Brent Coscia threatened to kill him in 2011, court officials said. Coscia said the two created the story because he objected to the way El Jamal ran his business, LoHud.com reported.
El Jamal is also still involved in a legal battle with two business partners over the control of several gas stations in New York and Connecticut, LoHud.com said.
