The identity of the woman, a student, was being withheld pending notification of her family, police said.

She was retrieving items from a vehicle parked in the William Street parking lot when the suspect's vehicle entered the parking lot and struck her, police said. The driver stopped briefly and then fled, dragging her beneath his car, police said.

Original story: GREENWICH, Conn. -- A woman in early 20s was struck and dragged by a vehicle in the William Street parking lot in Byram early Saturday, according to Greenwich police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
