The man known as "Mr. Harrison" served from 1946 to 1955 and 1958 to 1965. He was instrumental in the residential zoning and office planning of Harrison's prestigious development, states a plaque inside the building.
Sulla's motto was "Harrison Above All," and he was considered "a dynamic leader" and "an outstanding citizen," the plaque says.
The building was dedicated to him on Feb. 1, 1989. It is where Town Board meetings and Town Court are held, and it houses all municipal departments.
Town Supervisor Ron Belmont and Town Clerk Jackie Greer both have their offices in the Alfred F. Sulla Jr. Municipal Building.
The building is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer.
