HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison Mayor Ron Belmont launched a new television series on the town website Monday, designed to keep residents informed of what's going on.

"In an effort to keep the Harrison government as open as possible and transparent, I say hello to all Harrisonites and welcome you to my new TV series," Belmont says in the opening of the first episode of "Harrison Now."

The 20-minute first episode concentrates on the State of the Town address , which Belmont released on the town website back in April. Belmont discusses achievements from 2012 such as the newly-designed town website, the town clerk's office increasing revenue by nearly 30 percent, and a no-knock registry designed to keep away door-to-door salespeople. He also talks about new sidewalks that the town has installed on Purchase Street, Anderson Hill Road, and in front of Town/Village Hall and the Harrison Public Library, as well as a new playground constructed in Congress Street Park.

Belmont says that Harrison residents have much to look forward to in 2013, including the adoption of a new Master Plan for the town and the beginning of renovations to the library. He also said that police will be working on implementing a Child ID system, and creating a emergency operations center at Town/Village Hall.

Belmont plans to continue with the video series, and hopes to release a new installment every month highlighting the accomplishments of the town.
