Harrison Pantry Awaits OK Of $2,000 In Donations

HARRISON, N.Y. – The Harrison Food Pantry received a combined $2,000 from two donors, which must be approved at Thursday night’s Town Board meeting.

In a memo to the Town Board, Director of Community Services Nina Marraccini said she was pleased to tell the board of the “two very generous gifts.”

Also during the meeting, the Harrison Police Department will be acknowledged for its work during a September rainstorm.

In a letter to the town, Ted Demirjian complimented the police “for their professionalism” during the storm on Sept. 18.

“The officers on the scene waited and made sure that the area was safe and secure until Con Edison made the necessary repairs,” the letter said. “The Police Department also made sure that the children in our community were safe as they entered and exited their school buses.”

Demirjian went on to add that the “Harrison Police Department ensured the safety and protection of its citizens and community as priority one.”

He added that the officers' work during the storm was “a great reflection on how the department is run” by Police Chief Anthony Marraccini.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Municipal Building, 1 Heineman Place.
