Harrison Woman Faces Drug Charges In Putnam

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. – A Harrison woman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance Wednesday, Nov. 11 after a traffic stop on Route 22, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

Alexandra M. Salvo, 21, of Fremont Street, Harrison, was charged with the misdemeanor after the car she was riding in, driven by Hector W. Serrano, 40, of Cornwall, Conn., was stopped for a traffic violation at around 1:30 a.m., according to police.

Serrano was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Another passenger in the car, Kathleen E. O’Hara, 25, also of Cornwall, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

Serrano and Salvo were processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment. O’Hara was processed at the scene and released on her own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge, according to police.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendants each face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, according to police.
