Storm Might Affect Harrison Polling Places

HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison residents will go to the polls Tuesday to vote in the presidential election and two other races. However, it is not certain that every polling place will be open due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

"The Board of Elections is working with the State Board of Elections and the Governor's Office," said Harrison Town Clerk Jackie Greer. "They're working it out. It's too soon to say what's going to happen, but everybody will have a place to vote."

She said that many town-owned polling locations have power, including the library, fire house, Veterans Building, and many others.

However, there are buildings the Board of Elections deals with directly that are lacking power, including Harrison Avenue Elementary School.
