Westchester Police Associations Back Castelli

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester County (APA) has endorsed incumbent state Assemblyman Robert J. Castelli (R, C–Goldens Bridge) in his bid for re-election.

The organization includes 53 Police Benevolent Associations (PBA), including all of the PBAs in the 93rd Assembly District, and represents more than 10,000 members from village, town, county and city law enforcement agencies. Castelli spent more than 21 years with the New York State Police and then became a college professor of criminal justice before moving on to a career in politics.

Castelli is being challenged by Democrat David Buchwald, a member of the White Plains Common Council.

“If we’re going to protect our families, businesses, homes and property, we must provide law enforcement with the tools they need to provide the world-class service that Westchester’s police outfits are known for,” Castelli said. “As a former New York state trooper, I know firsthand the challenges these men and women face on a daily basis.”

The APA represents the White Plains, Bedford, Harrison, Lewisboro Town, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle, North Salem, the Pound Ridge, NYS Park Police, Metropolitan Transit Authority, NYS University Police, and Westchester County Police and Westchester County DA Investigators PBAs, as well as the N.Y. State Police, the Westchester County Correction Officer’s Association and the Westchester County Superior Officer’s Association.

Castelli’s 93rd Assembly District includes the towns of Lewisboro, Pound Ridge, Bedford, North Salem, Bedford, Mount Kisco, North Castle, New Castle, Harrison and parts of White Plains.
