Roach announced Thursday he is running for another term as mayor of White Plains.

"It's official, I am seeking reelection as Mayor of the City of White Plains," Roach tweeted. "Proud to be part of a strong progressive Democratic slate."

Roach will be challenged in a primary by Councilwoman Milagros Lecuona.

At a press conference outside of White Plains City Hall, Roach was joined by Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, Senator George Latimer, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Assemblyman David Buchwald, County Legislator Alfreda Williams and Legislator Benjamin Boykin.

Roach became mayor in Feb. 2011, following Adam Bradley's resignation. He won a special election in March 2011 and was re-elected in 2013.
