“Don is a highly motivated and accomplished professional who is widely respected in the local real estate community. His experience and knowledge will be of tremendous value to the Yorktown Heights office, and I know that Don will work closely with the affiliated agents in the office to help them grow their business and achieve even greater success,” said Cathleen Smith, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y.

In that position, Cummins was responsible for administering the professional standards and grievance proceedings for the entire lower Hudson Valley region, as well as providing legal counsel for the association and multiple listings system.

Prior to his position at HGAR, Cummins ran a private legal practice based in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties that specialized in real estate issues, wills, trusts and estates and general litigation.

Cummins is a New York state licensed real estate instructor and has served as an advanced designation instructor for the New York State Association of Realtors since 2007. He has also taught courses for HGAR, the Orange County Association of Realtors, as well as numerous private and public real estate, mortgage and title institutions.

“I am very pleased to take on this new challenge and look forward to working with the talented group of real estate professionals affiliated with our Yorktown Heights office. Coldwell Banker invests heavily to provide the resources and educational programs that real estate professionals need in order to successfully assist their homebuyer and seller clients in today’s real estate market,” said Cummins.

Cummins graduated from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Throughout his career, Cummins has been honored with several awards including the Putnam County Association of Realtors’ Man of the Year Award, appointment to the national legal honors society known as the Order of the Coif and the Alexander Fellowship with former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasy.
