Graff, the author of "Double Dog Dare," "The Thing About Georgie," and "Sophie Simon Solves Them All," shared with the Harrison students that she had always loved creating stories and plays in Big Bear, Calif. where she grew up. Graff said her favorite subjects were math and science but ultimately realized in high school and college that she had a true interest and passion for writing.

Graff's newest novel, "A Tangle of Knots," centers on 11-year-old Cady who lives in a magical world where everyone has a talent, district representatives said.

Graff’s appearance was made possible through a grant provided by the Elementary Enrichment Committee and was facilitated by the Harrison Central School District’s Elementary Library Media Specialists – Deborah Goldstein, Thomasine Mastrantoni, Mark Sandor and Elizabeth Heller.
