Church Street Wins Better Schools Bonanza!

Congratulations to Church Street Elementary School in White Plains. It’s the grand winner of the $10,000 top prize in Main Street Connect’s Better Schools Bonanza, sponsored by Entergy. The school earned more than 14,500 votes from family, friends and supporters. The $1,000 runner-up prize goes to William B. Ward Elementary School from New Rochelle, which tallied more than 11,000 votes. Fifty-one Westchester County elementary schools got at least 500 votes, winning them each a $500 check.

In total, Main Street Connect will donate $36,500 to the cause of Westchester County elementary school education. The money goes to each school’s Parent Teacher Organization or Association, which will help decide which programs need added support.
