PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Alyssa Tourdot opened the scoring and Amanda DeChent took over from there Wednesday for Manhattanville's field hockey team.
DeChent had a hat trick as Manhattanville defeated visiting Western New England, 4-1. Since its only loss, Manhattanville has won four consecutive games, outscoring the opposition 14-5. The Lady Valiants are 7-1 this season, which equals the programs best eight-game start. Manhattanville was last 7-1 through eight games in 1980. DeChent, a graduate of Putnam Valley in Putnam County, now leads the team in scoring with eight goals and three assists. Ryes Alyssa Coughlan assisted on DeChents first goal, giving her a team-leading five.
