Harrison Accepts Donation for Cafeteria Renovation

HARRISON, N.Y. – The Harrison Board of Education accepted a $125,000 donation from the Harrison Educational Fund to go toward renovations to the cafeteria at Harrison High School.

Assistant Superintendent for Business Robert Salierno said that the project will be done in multiple phases. Salierno said that the cost of the project and the timetable of when it will begin are unknown at the moment.

The school board also accepted three monetary donations and two additional donations of school supplies. The Mack Goldner Memorial Foundation gave the district $3,500. The money will go towards the middle school student of the month program. The family of E. Richard McDonald donated $1,000 to be used in a scholarship fund named after him. Furthermore, resident Patricia Colangelo donated $25 to the district to go towards the David Basso Scholarship Fund.

The Harrison High School art department accepted a donation of 12 used, stretched and framed painting canvasses. The art supplies were donated by Eugene Singer. Finally, the district accepted the donation of a piano to use as they see fit by resident Robyn Bonnano.

The school board will meet next on June 20. The meeting, which was previously set for June 13, was rescheduled.
