HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison's four elementary schools held their own book fairs last week with the goal to energize children to read, the Harrison School District said.
Books of all reading levels and price ranges were available as teachers encouraged students to embrace reading.
"Whether it was the new Sports Illustrated Book of 2012, Judy Moody Adventures, Magic Tree House books, or books on how to create volcanoes or origami sculptures, there was something for everyone," the school said in a statement.
While the length of the book fair varied from school to school, there were special events at all four. Some schools had "Pajama Days" or ice cream socials and others had muffins with Mom or donuts with Dad.
