The students, Matthew Griff, Grant Mueller, Adam Elijamal and Akshat Sanghavi, headed to Tennessee after previously outperforming many others at the New York state competition in Rochester. In total, the high school sent 31 DECA Club student members to the New York state event.

“Many of the competitions require a written exam as well as a live action role-play,” said Joe Santo, a Harrison High School business teacher and club advisor. “Students are able to receive a top 10 award on the individual parts of the competition. Those scores are compiled, and then students are also awarded an overall top 10 medal. Finally, students with the top three scores in their event qualify for nationals.”
