HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison High School seniors donned the maroon and white one last time as more than 250 graduated Friday night in a ceremony held at Purchase College.

"The time has come for these students to cross the threshold into alumni land," said HHS Principal James Ruck. "I have not seen a class with more patience, drive and dignity than this one."

This year there was no official valedictorian or salutatorian as 13 students all came within percentage points of the top spot. Rather than calculate who the winner was, the 13 students who graduated Summa Cum Laude selected senior Daniel Cueno to be the one speaker, while the teachers picked senior Emma Adler.

"The high school experience is a complicated process," Cuneo said. "There is not one moment that defines any of us, but our struggles and successes that determine who we are."
