There is expected to be a large presence of parents at the meeting to discuss school safety. Many parents have come to the last two Town Board meetings to voice their concerns.

For now, police officers are stationed at each district school from open to close until a long-term plan is put into place.

Harrison Mayor Ron Belmont, Police Chief Anthony Marraccini and Schools Superintendent Lou Wool have met multiple times in the wake of the Dec. 14 tragedy in Newtown, including tours of the schools to develop a security plan.

Belmont and Marraccini were urged by parents to attend the school board meeting. It is not known if they will be going.

The 8:15 p.m. meeting will in the Louis M. Klein Middle School Library.
