HARRISON, N.Y. -- Two Harrison High School seniors were recently selected as the Harrison-Mamaroneck Rotary Club's Students of the Month.
Seniors Hallie Gersten and Marisa Goldstein received the honor for October 2013, according to a press release from the group. Students from Mamaroneck and Harrison are selected each month and are recognized for "academic achievements and service to community," according to the release.
Students are chosen, through their written essays, as individuals who exemplify the true Rotary spirit of “Service Above Self,” according to the release. Gersten and Goldstein were recognized at a Rotary luncheon and will be added to the pool of each month’s winners for “Student of the Year” honors, according to the release.
Applications to be considered for the Harrison-Mamaroneck Rotary “Student of the Month” program are available through the Harrison High School Guidance Department, according to the release, and all seniors are encouraged to apply.
