Students from Mamaroneck and Harrison are selected each month from submitted applications for the program and are recognized for academic achievements and service to the community, district representatives said. Students receive the recognition following written essays and those selected "exemplify the true Rotary spirit of 'Service Above Self,'" representatives said.
Curtis and Lovallo, both seniors, were recognized at a Rotary luncheon and are set to become part of the pool of each month’s winners for “Student of the Year” honors. Students may receive $1,000 scholarships at the end of the year.
Program applications are available through the Harrison High School Guidance Department.
