HARRISON, N.Y. - More than 60 Harrison High School students from the Class of 2013 were inducted into the National Honor Society.
The ceremony - the 51st year it was held in Harrison - honored students who exemplify the four core values of society: leadership, scholarship, service and character. NHS Advisor Jon Veenis said in a news release that students needed to send two separate applications to qualify. These applications included essays and a compilations of extracurricular activities, which were reviewed by a committee of five teachers.
To qualify for the NHS, students must maintain a grade point average of 90 percent or better and fulfill a service obligation throughout the school year.
