The students, from the school’s Youth Volunteers of Harrison club, joined hundreds in walking 4.4 miles. The event is a day where hundreds of cities across the country come together and walk to raise awareness of the increasing number of breast cancer patients.

The club is made up of more than 40 Harrison High School students who are determined and passionate about improving the Harrison community and places beyond. Its future events include the Children’s Hope Chest Hat and Glove Drive, participation in Kids Kloset, and helping the Prom Perfect project.

Each member has a strong desire to help others and fulfills this passion through the activities of the club, the school said in a press release.
