Kellys Of Rye To Be Honored At School Of The Holy Child's 'Starry Night'

One Starry Night "celebrates the constellation of friends, family, faculty, and fine young women who are part of the school’s shining past, stellar present, and bright future,'' according to its organizers.

Cocktails and a silent auction start at 6:30 p.m. April 18 at Westchester County Club. Dinner and a live auction begin at 8 p.m.

Peggy Parlatore, a Class of '77 graduate, and Al Kelly have been part of the School of the Holy Child community for nearly 40 years, having met at the school’s prom. Two of their daughters are graduates, and a third is in fifth grade at Holy Child.

Whether working as a trustee, growing the alumnae program or volunteering to support numerous school activities, Peggy has been a quiet strength behind the advancement of the school.

Likewise, Al has provided extraordinary leadership to Holy Child. As chairman of the Board of Trustees, he has worked tirelessly to enhance the profile of the school, and paved the way for students’ future success.

Al Kelly told the Daily Voice, “Holy Child is a gem and it has played an important part in the lives of the women in my life, so it gives us great pleasure to help the school whenever and wherever we can.”

The couple's greatest contribution to Holy Child may have been entrusting the school with their daughters, Kaitlin ’07, Maggie ’09, and Lizzie, who is slated to graduate in 2022.

Peggy Kelly told the Daily Voice: “Holy Child did an excellent job of preparing all three of us for college. . . I had a fabulous class of girls and, to this day, many of us remain very close and dear friends."

"Lizzie is blazing a new trail starting the school in fifth grade," her mother said. "She has taken to it like a fish to water."

"Lizzie is testament to the joy in learning," her father added. "She is doing well and, more importantly, loves the community.”

Liz Curtis and Laura Erlick are co-chairing the event. Reservations are encouraged by April 10. For details, call 914-967-5622 or email gala2015@holychildrye.org.
