Parsons School Program Teams Up With Harrison Library

HARRISON, N.Y. – Parsons Memorial Elementary School students could win a gift certificate to the annual spring book fair in a program co-sponsored by the Harrison Public Library.

Students who borrow books from the library or apply for new library cards will get raffle tickets for the book fair. Only one entry is allowed per child each week.

The initiative is part of the Parsons Parents as Reading Partners program, which the school says is “designed to encourage students to become excited about reading while practicing reading skills with the help of parents.”

Raffle tickets will be distributed at the circulation desk of the library.

Saw Mill River Parkway Crash In Elmsford Slows Traffic Tuesday

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Two lanes southbound on the Saw Mill River Parkway were blocked Tuesday evening due to a multiple car accident on just south of Exit 20 near the I-287 in Elmsford.

The right lanes in both northbound and southbound directions of the parkway were closed around 5 p.m. with emergency vehicles on the scene.
