HARRISON, N.Y. Harrison residents will get the chance to voice their support and/or concerns on the tentative 2012-13 school budget on Wednesday, May 2.
A public hearing before the board of education will be held at 8:15 p.m. in the library at Louis M. Klein Middle School.
Facing a 2 percent cap on the tax levy imposed by the state for the first time, the board of education approved a 1.97 percent tax hike to preserve both programs already in place and class size in each of its schools. The budget would spend $104.2 million, a 1.07 percent spending increase over the 2011-12 school budget.
Last year, Harrison voters approved a $103.1 million budget by a 60-40 margin. This years budget will be put up to a public vote on May 15.
