Purchase Students Volunteer in Port Chester

HARRISON, N.Y. – Students from Purchase College in Harrison reached out to Port Chester schools last week in the 12th annual National Lights on After School Day.

Members of the college's office of student life and community partnerships worked alongside 24 Purchase students to volunteer at the Don Bosco Community Center and JFK Magnet Elementary School on Oct. 20.

Seven volunteers went to the community center and focused on health, wellness and sportsmanship by playing a game of wiffle ball. The other 17 students focused on literacy at JFK Magnet Elementary and worked with over 100 kids in the OASIS after school program by participating in a story telling activity.
