Commended students placed among the top 5 percent of the 1.5 million applicants who entered the 2016 competition. Altomare is one of just 16,000 students nationally who will advance to the semi-finals.

“The School of the Holy Child community applauds our seniors for this remarkable achievement and for their commitment to pursue academic excellence and find joy in learning. At Holy Child, every student is empowered to use knowledge, confidence, collaboration, vision and character to become her best self within the classroom and beyond. We celebrate each of our Commended Students as they continue to strive to succeed personally and academically,” Head of School William Hambleton said.
