HHS teacher Frank Napolitano, the Planetarium Director, has been holding class visitations since October to teach students about the different constellations that can be seen in space during the four seasons, school officials said. The third-graders who visited recently were able to identify the luminosity of major stars such as the North Star and Sirius, as well as Betelgeuse and Rigel in the Orion “The Hunter” constellation.
The students were "treated to a virtual 'rocket ship' adventure, leaving the planet earth and venturing to exotic locations on Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus," school officials said.
