In the decisive fifth set against Dowling, Bentley faced an 11-9 deficit before running off three straight points to reclaim the lead. With the score even at 14 (the eighth tie in the final set), Bentley grabbed the lead on the 19th kill of the match by senior Tatiana Froehlich and secured the victory on a shared block by junior Shelby Kreienberg and sophomore Ashley Latimer, a Croton-on-Hudson resident.

After falling behind 2-1 in the match, Bentley came storming back in the fourth, scoring the first six points to take a lead it would not relinquish.

Senior setter Alex Tator finished with 44 assists and also had 17 digs. Bentley totaled 103 digs, the first time it reached the century mark in a dozen years and had five players reach double digits in that category. Senior Lauren Colasanti had 21, classmate Jessica Segal of West Harrison finished with 14 and freshman Shannon Kelly earned 13. Senior Simona Silvera was also a factor in the victory, making six blocks.

The 4-0 weekend evened Bentley’s record at 4-4 on the season. The Falcons will launch their home and Northeast-10 schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 16 with a 7 p.m. match against Saint Anselm College.
