SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A group of sports, entertainment and media celebrities will take part in the Ahmad Rashad Golf Classic on Sunday and Monday to benefit White Plains Hospital.
The two-day event begins with an opening reception at 42, a restaurant inside the Ritz-Carlton Westchester in White Plains from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The celebrities will tee off at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale with a brunch at 10:30 a.m. and a noon tee time. The tournament will follow a shotgun format, in which each group of players tees off at the same time on different holes.
Notable celebrities at the event will include Emmy award-winning broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, NBC sportscaster Bob Costas, former New York Giant O.J. Anderson, five-time NBA champion Ron Harper, former baseball stars Ken Griffey Jr. and David Justice, New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson, Knicks assistant coach Darrell Walker, former basketball player Herb Williams, R&B singer Brian McKnight, “The Voice” winner Javier Colon and jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis.
White Plains Hospital President and CEO Jon B. Schandler and hospital chairperson J. Michael Divney will also participate, along with several board members and supporters of the hospital.
An awards ceremony and reception will follow the tournament from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
