Day's No-Hitter Sends Harrison To Softball Win

THORNWOOD, N.Y. — Tamara Day tossed a no-hitter and struck out 12 batters as Harrison defeated White Plains, 10-0 in a winners bracket game of the Little League District 20 Softball Minor's Championship on Wednesday.

The game was stopped after four innings because of the mercy rule.

Harrison will face Eastchester at 10 a.m. Saturday at O'Rourke Field in the winners bracket final. The winner advances to the championship game at 7 p.m. July 5 at Sherman Park Little League's Volunteer Field.

White Plains will play Ardsley in a losers bracket game at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Gedney Field in White Plains.

Kristi Iannacchino and Day each had a hit, RBI and a run scored. Lindsay McConway had a double and scored two runs, and Lila Mogavero singled and scored three runs.
