Harrison High School Recognizes Graduating Athletes

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison High School recently held a banquet honoring the athletes of the Class of 2013 for their accomplishments on and off the field.

Kaitlyn Gotte and Vinny Nicita were named Outstanding Female and Male Athletes from the Harrison High School Class of 2013.

Vinny Nicita and Kaitlyn Gotte won Outstanding Male and Female Athlete awards. Ryo Inkyo and Kate Faxon were named Outstanding Male and Female Scholar Athletes. The Heart and Soul Awards, which are given to athletes who lead by example and motivate others to win and be their best, were presented to Miranda Chiarella, Peri Mendelsohn, Sarah Vallarelli, Charlie Credendino, Tyler Hart and Jack McCarthy.

The Athletic Directors Award was given to athletes who distinguished themselves as members of the Harrison Husky family and are outstanding athletes in their sport. This year's awards were presented to Trey Wasilesky, David Polakoff, Kevin Nathanson, Bryan Pon, Ali Menniti, Breanna Sgro and Hannah Hochman.

Nick Pipitone was awarded on behalf of Harrison Little League in honor of John C. Hoffman. Samantha Chiarella was awarded on behalf of Harrison softball in honor of John Selvaggio. Robert Waldman received the Abbott Morris Scholarship. Joe Maida received the Dean Marantis Scholarship.

"Dapper" McDonald Scholarships were awarded to Nick Pipitone, Katie Fanelli, Jack McCarthy, Alison LePino and Bryan Pon. David Basson Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Samantha Chiarella and Christian Santamaria.
