HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- Harrison and White Plains will play for the District 20 Little League Baseball 9-10-year-old title Saturday, 4 p.m., at Volunteer Field.
Harrison advanced to the final by prevailing in the winners bracket with a 13-10 victory over Eastchester earlier this week. Harrison had a nine-run outburst in the fifth inning to take the lead against Eastchester. It was highlighted by a two-run homer from Michael Arlotta.
White Plains earned its berth in the final by emerging from the losers bracket with a 3-2 win over Eastchester, Thursday. White Plains scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to earn the win. Jack Keenan doubled in the tieing run and then scored the decisive run. He also earned the win in relief of Anthony Burgio, who allowed one unearned run in 3 2/3 innnings. White Plains will have to beat Harrison in order to force a second game, at a date, time and site to be determined.
