Harrison's Loguidice, Gotte Unite At Field Hockey Festival

HARRISON, N.Y. – Michelle Loguidice enjoyed herself so much playing with the Hudson Valley field hockey team at the National Festival in 2011, she knew she wanted to return in 2012.

The Harrison senior, along with teammate and good friend Kaitlyn Gotte, will be reunited with the Hudson Valley field hockey team as it competes at the National Field Hockey Festival in Wellington, Fla., Wednesday through Sunday.

Joining Loguidice and Gotte are Lakeland’s Rebecca Bard, Gianna Bensaia, Kristen Conroy, Mairead Hourihan, Gab Celentano, Kim Monteferante and Dana Bozek, Mamaroneck’s Rachel Brissette and Hannah Fitzgerald, Alex Bennett of Rye, Cara Stafford from John Jay-Cross River, Putnam Valley’s Sayaka Abe and Erin McCrudden and Megan Redmond of Rondout Valley.

“I got really excited because I really wanted to come back this year,” Loguidice said. “Last year, I was a little nervous, at first, because I had never played with them. It was a really good experience because it was a whole new level of play for me. And they really helped me with my game.”

Lakeland’s Sharon Sarsen is the coach and will be assisted by Harrison coach and former Lakeland great Sara Gonzalez. Loguidice said she is doubly excited to be with Gonzalez and Gotte one last time.

“Kaitlyn and I have been playing together for so long,” Loguidice said. “Kaitlyn got hurt and missed our last two sectional games. It was sad not having her so it will be so nice to play with her again and be coached by Coach Gonzalez, and Sars, one last time. Coach Gonzalez knows me the best.”
