Loguidice Is Harrison Daily Voice Athlete Of The Month

HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison High School’s Michelle Loguidice started with field hockey in seventh grade because she said it was something new she wanted to try out.

Senior Michelle Loguidice, a three-year starter on the Harrison varsity field hockey team and two-time all-state selection, is the Harrison Daily Voice Student Athlete of the Month.

Senior Michelle Loguidice, a three-year starter on the Harrison varsity field hockey team and two-time all-state selection, is the Harrison Daily Voice Student Athlete of the Month.

One year later, Loguidice was hooked on the sport and it would lead to a three-year starting spot on the Harrison High School varsity field hockey team.

Loguidice concludes her field hockey career as the inaugural Harrison Daily Voice Student Athlete of the Month.

Loguidice and her fellow seniors have established Harrison as a rising power in Section 1. Three consecutive Section 1 Class A appearances and three first-round wins bear this out.

“I think it’s really good knowing that we set an example for the younger players,” said Loguidice, a two-time Section 1 all-elite selection and twice an all-state pick. “It’s also nice knowing that, when we leave, Harrison field hockey is still going to be good.”

A three-year starter on the forward line, including the last two at center forward, Loguidice was a creative force as well as a scorer for Harrison coach Sara Gonzalez.

“Michelle is a fast and skilled attacker who possesses the ball well and creates attacking opportunities for the team,” Gonzalez said. “Michelle is a hard worker who isn’t satisfied until she feels she has accomplished the goal at hand.”

Loguidice took her game to a higher level this year based on her determination to prove something. “I felt that I had to prove myself again this year and still be even better,” Loguidice said.
