Manhattanville Athletes Volunteer at Burke Games

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Manhattanville women’s ice hockey team understands the competitive spirit, so as a group, the Valiants volunteered Saturday to help some fellow athletes at the 32nd Burke Rehabilitation Hospital’s Wheelchair Games.

“It just makes you realize how important it is to be part of the community and how these athletes compete just like we do,” Lynsey Schill said. “We are really enjoying being here to help in any way we can.”

Schill joined Mary Rose Morrison, Jena Kuhl, Hannah Moskego and Emy Cole and other members of the women’s and men’s hockey teams who helped run the athletic events, move athletes from venue to venue and be on hand to assist in any way they were needed.

“It’s about being part of the community where we go to college and it’s very rewarding,” said Moskego, who hails from Canada. “It makes you think about how lucky we are to be able to play hockey.”
