Manhattanville Cross Country Sponsors Flood Relief

PURCHASE, N.Y – Accustomed to running against the clock and tough terrain, the Manhattanville Cross Country teams are taking on another challenge, joining with the Duchesne Center to co-sponsor the urgent Flood Relief Project to help aid those in select Vermont cities affected by the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.

While most items are necessary to help in the clean-up effort, the following items are in highest demand: paper towels, disinfectant wipes, sponges, scrub brushes, brooms and dust pans and garbage bags. All materials will be sent to the Vermont Red Cross to help citizens in Rutland and Wilmington, Vt. Materials can be dropped off on campus at the Athletics office and the Duchesne Center, as well at the Valiants Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m. The team is also holding a “spare change” drive during the Invitational to collect money for local Red Cross organizations in the affected areas.
