PURCHASE, N.Y. Michael Capozzi has been the epitome of a student-athlete during his four years at Manhattanville College. And he is being honored for it.
The senior has been selected as the Middle Atlantic Conference men's tennis scholar-athlete of the year.
Capozzi is the reigning two-time Freedom Conference player of the year. During his career, he is the program leader in singles' wins with 62, doubles victories with 61 and overall wins at 123.
Even more impressive are Capozzi's academic achievements. He owns a 3.978 grade-point average, with a major in finance and minors in Italian and sociology.
