PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville men's soccer team continued its stretch of five-straight conference matches, defeating the visiting FDU-Florham Devils Tuesday afternoon by the score of 3-0 at GoValiants.com Field.

The Valiants (10-3-0) defensive line, led by senior Emil Sjoberg from Stockholm, Sweden, and juniors Marco Blasetti from Yonkers/Rye Country Day, Edmond Addison from Accra, Ghana and Sebastian Siring from Gothenburg, Sweden, held the opposition to no shots in the first 45 minutes.

The Valiants took 20 shots on goal to the Devils two and led in corner kicks 13-2. Harrison High graduate Jason Torres earned his eighth victory in goal, making two saves behind the Valiants' defense.

The Valiants were able to break through as freshman Yani Quinteros from Shirley, N.Y. tipped in a short pass from Chukwueloka Muoka from Bronx/Fordham Leadership Academy for a 1-0 lead. After a shot off the foot of senior Keston George from Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago was initially saved, the captain regained the rebound and passed it to the middle of the box where Daniel Carlryd from Gothenburg, Sweden chipped the ball into the goal for a 2-0 lead.

Adam Kent from London, England, who had several good scoring opportunities in the game, scored the final goal for the Valiants.

Manhattanville will be back in action at 3 p.m. Saturday against Wilkes, with the game broadcast live on GoValiants.TV.
