Two Harrison High School Students Sign On To Play Division I College Sports

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Two Harrison High School seniors have signed letters of intent to play Division I level college sports, according to the school district.

Zach Evans has committed to the University of Pennsylvania, where he'll play football.

Andrew Carton has signed with Yale University, where he'll play soccer.

Evans, a three-sport athlete, was the Harrison team's captain in his senior year. He earned an All-State Honorable Mention award as well as All-Conference and All-League accolades and was selected to play in the Exceptional Senior Game for Section 1.

"This is a very special day for me and my family and I just want to thank everyone for coming out to support me today," Evans said, noting that his teammates and coaches were among the most important in attendance.

Carton said said that he had dreamed about signing a letter of intent since playing sports as a child.

"I am extremely grateful for my family, my friends and everyone who helped me reach this point," Carton said. "I am grateful and humbled to have my signing at the high school."
